In Scripture, The Eternal has many names which describe His attributes. He also has a personal name just as we do. The name of the Creator of all things is Yahweh. This is not His entire name, but this is the most you will see on this site. Because His name is holy, we don't use it casually or in a flippant manner. It is permissible to use His name in prayer, and under other circumstances, and you will occasionally see it on this site. More often you will see the Tetragrammaton: YHWH. Other names of the Most High that we use are YAH, (an abbreviated form of his name used in Scripture), The Eternal, and HaShem, meaning "The Name". Please treat any articles or information  you print that contains His name with respect.

Yeshua,  known to Christians as "Jesus".  The following information is from messianic.com:

Yeshua is the original Hebrew proper name for Jesus of Nazareth, a Jewish Rabbi (and more) who lived from about 6 B.C.E. to 27 C.E. (A.D.) In other words, Yeshua was the name His mother used when shall called Him for supper. Jesus is a mis-transliteration of the Greek mis-transliteration, Yeysu.  (Some say the name Jesus probably developed from the name of the pagan god Zeus, but there is little or no evidence for this.)  It is true that Emporer Constatine mistook Jesus for the Greek god Apollo, but that is another story. It is the most proper to call Him Yeshua, since only in the Hebrew does His name have any meaning.  In Hebrew Yeshua means both "Salvation," and the concatenated form of Yahoshua, the "L-RD who is Salvation."

I like to exlain it this way: If someone moved to the United Sates from Spain, and his name was Miguel, would we call him Miguel or Michael? We would call him Miguel of course. The name Jesus is not  a direct translation of His Hebrew name, as the Migiel -Michael example, but a mistranslation.

Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek Yahweh: look to the rock whence you were hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.

Isaiah 51:1-2
