Torah Blessings

It is customary to recite blessings before and after the reading of the Torah. They are included below in Hebrew, English, and the transliterated English. We will also be  including the blessings for the Haftarah  reading (the reading after the Torah from the Prophets) and the B'rit Hadasha (New Covenant) soon so please check back.
Blessing Before the Torah is Read

Transliteration

Bar' khoo et adonai hamvorakh (leader)
Barookh adonai hamvorakh l'olam va'ed (leader & congregation)

Barookh atah adonai elohaynoo melekh ha' olam (leader)
asher bakar banoo meekol ha-ameem
v'natan lanoo et torato
Barookh atah adonai, notayn hatorah

English

Bless Yahweh who is blessed.
Bless Yahweh who is blessed forever and ever.

Blessed are you, Yahweh our God, King of the universe
who chose us from all peoples,
and gave us the Torah.
Blessed are you Yahweh, giver of the Torah.

Blessed are you Yahweh our God, King of the universe who gave us the Torah of truth
and life everlasting planted in our midst.
