"Tzedakah" is the Hebrew word for the acts that we call "charity" in English: giving aid, assistance and money to the poor and needy or to other worthy causes. However, the nature of tzedakah is very different from the idea of charity. The word "charity" suggests benevolence and generosity, a magnanimous act by the wealthy and powerful for the benefit of the poor and needy. The word "tzedakah" is derived from the Hebrew root Tzadei-Dalet-Qof, meaning righteousness, justice or fairness. In Judaism, giving is not viewed as a generous, magnanimous act; it is simply an act of justice and righteousness.

Alexis & Taylor Giunta

Alexis and Taylor are sisters who were born with a very rare terminal genetic disorder called ML-II or I-Cell disease. Children born with this disease cannot break down storage material that builds up in cells, because of this there is a build up of material on their bones, hearts, respiratory systems, ... etc. Alexis and Taylor's parents have unwaivering faith that God can heal their children even though doctors don't forsee them living past the age of ten.

While health insurance helps, the burden of expences not covered by insurance is taking its toll. With humility and hope the Giunta Family turn to friends, family, and loved ones for support. Please choose to give and know that you are helping sustain the medical care and treatment of these two beautiful little girls who have gone through so much and remain so strong.

Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek Yahweh: look to the rock whence you were hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.
